REISSUE SEATS ARE BACK IN STOCK!! Once again re-issued seats are back in production! These are made with the original Persons tooling. All have welded-on reflector tabs! $70.00 each!(except the $75 Cotton Picker) These re-issue seats are very nicely tucked and do have the correct 'arch' like the original seats. The stripe twists and seat appearance are exactly like the OEM seats that Schwinn supplied when our beloved Sting-Rays were built. These are sold outright, no core required.

These Production seats are made just like the originals. They have crooked stripes, little folds etc. Remember, the holes and tags are hand punched. by eye, and they are more than likely uneven. They always were. Over the years, I have disassembled THOUSANDS of seats and I have yet to see a perfect one. If you are very picky, order one of my Hand-Made seats below. Remember, my Hand-Made seats look better, but the production seats are more correct.

Regarding Chrome Mylar on ribbed seats: Vinyl stretches, Mylar does not. On a hot day, with an adult on a Chrome Mylar seat, sometimes the Mylar will release. The original 60's-70's seats did this and so do these occasionally. If you are building a rider, I'd recommend going with a seat without the Chrome. If you already have a seat that has peeling Mylar, you can remove it with a hairdryer and some patience or carefully tack it back into place with some hobby store super-type glue. The Chrome Mylar seats are best for display use.

Recover Installation needed: spray can of 3M 77 (or equivalent) adhesive, bottle of contact cement and 4 rubber-tipped woodworker's clamps. Additional clamps are also available (I use 20 when I build seats...)
