Silk Screening Service
Silk Screening service is available
from Hyper-Formance. From the Schwinn Factory, all Sting-Rays came with the
chain guards Silk Screened. The screening goes on top of the clear coat, last.

below)

Five-Speed Sting-Ray. I SCREEN REVERSE DELUXE GUARDS..Call for details.
Guards need to be clean...That means
all Grime cleaned off the back side. A good, wave/imperfection free surface
gives best results. All buffing of clear coat needs to be done before shipping.
Remember, I'm in Arizona, home of 120 degree days...and it's 160 degrees inside
the UPS truck. Make sure the paint is dry (two weeks is a good start, longer
with urethanes) wrap the guard in a soft, clean tee shirt or gym sock. DO NOT
wrap guard with tape!! (I receive many done this way, it presses the cloth into
the surface) NEVER pack directly in newspaper or bubble wrap or peanuts!
(It leaves imprints/newsprint/discoloration in the fresh paint) Use a big
enough box and pack loosely, if in doubt, use a bigger box. If you've ever tried
to collect on a damage claim from the US Post Office, you'll understand why I
recommend UPS for all rare, expensive shipments. Insure all shipment to the
value you feel your guard is worth. Please enclose a packing list with all
screening/painting directions listed, use a printed order form from this
website. Remember, Mail Boxes Etc and such mailing services do not put your
name/address on the box...it's your duty to enclose it inside. Don't assume I'll
remember our conversation from 2 months ago :-) I know this all sounds obvious,
but you wouldn't believe what shows up here....There was this guy who shipped a
guard in a folded pizza box top...really!
Chain guard painting is also available.
Candy colors can vary in color a bunch...I always recommend painting the guard
and frame at the same time so they match. You can call Dave Erickson for this
service at 952-473-8365. If you still want your guard painted separately, I
offer painting and screening service. Guards must be shipped clean, paint
removed (Aircraft Stripper from an Auto Paint store works great!) Guards must be
straight, I do not do or include body work in the price. Guard surface must not
be rust-pitted, same as above. I do not paint over someone else's filler and
primer, incompatibilities can and will occur.
Re-Screening original paint guards can
be done, please call me for details.
Please allow 10-15 working days for
Screening, up to 25 working days for Painting and Screening.
