Function Responsibilities and Notes:
NOTE: If you have been assigned a role that you cannot fulfill, please assume the responsibility to secure a replacement and inform the scheduled Toastmaster of the change.
Toastmaster:
- Call the Topic Master, General Evaluator, and Speakers to confirm participation.
- Prepare you Agenda and make enough copies for club members and guests.
- Come early to set up folders with evaluation forms and ballots, make sure the room is ready (banner, flag, timing lights)
- During the Meeting implement the Agenda and keep the meeting running on time.
General Evaluator:
A few days before the meeting, call the Grammarian, Ah Counter, Timer, the Evaluators, Hot Seat and provider of Snacks/Pledge/Thought to confirm their participation.Evaluators:
Call your Speaker and check in to see what speech they are working on and their speech objectives.
Jokemaster:
Bring a joke to share with the club that you could tell in church. Please no bar room, bedroom, or bathroom humor.
Grammarian:
Brings the Word of the Day and lets the Toastmaster know what it is.Hot Seat:
Prepare the "Fresh Scoop" two minute educational presentation and fill in as needed during the meeting. If you need help selecting a topic check with our Vice President of Education. The Hot Seat also fills in on the day of the meeting any position that needs a last minute filling.Speakers:
Prepare a written Introduction which includes your speech objectives. See the Fresh Scoop, Introductions for Speakers for tips on preparing your introduction. Give it to the Toastmaster prior to the start of the meeting. Let the Toastmaster know which speech you are working on, the title of your speech and the time requirements.
